CHRIST CARE MINISTRIES

We are here to be a beacon on light and hope in the community and to see more lives transformed by the power of God in a holistic way.

OUR PASSION

So o many fathers have died of AIDs leaving behind widows with children who struggle for daily existence, searching for life preserving retro virals and the means to get to school. This is not okay.

OUR MISSION

We help the most needy through an orphanage, school, rescue centre and widows programme to give medication and food they need to combat AIDs.

  • At Christ Care Ministries International, we are devoted to caring for the orphans and widows in Migori County of Kenya by meeting their basic physical, medical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

    Orphans Academy
Christ Care Academy, unlike other schools, believes and undertakes a holistic approach in education, the education that takes into account the body, mind, soul and spirit.

    Children’s Home
The Christ Care Children’s Home is a safe refuge for school age orphans, street kids and needy children who are in need of food, education, counseling and a place to call home. The home is Christ-centered and provides a continuum of care including physical, emotional, and spiritual nurturing. The Home’s goal is to help the children mature into caring, responsible and productive members of society, regardless of their past background.

    Widows Mistry
Christ Care Widows Ministry was established in 2008 to address the lack of programs focused specifically on widows in Migori County. The program mission is to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS, fight the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, and to provide support to widows and orphans living with and affected by the disease. The ministry focuses on counseling and social assistance, HIV/AIDS information and education, and conducting advocacy against harmful cultural practices and beliefs that impact widows. It also empowers widows by providing business development skills that allow women to reduce their dependency on men. Christ Care Widows Ministry membership includes 50 widows and over 300 orphans.

Current Fundraising Projects

  • In Migori, Kenya, we are working with hundreds of widows in their 20s and 30s who have young children. These women became widows as a result of their husbands dying of AIDS which they, too, have contracted. Without treatment, the disease will kill them and leave their children as orphans.

Christ Care Widows Ministry, established in 2008, provides counselling and social assistance, HIV/AIDs education, medical intervention, advocacy for widows and their children and opportunities for them to hear the Gospel of Christ. The Ministry currently supports 500 widows and over 300 orphans.

    SEE HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • The Christ Care Children’s Home is a safe refuge for school age orphans, street kids and needy children who are in need of food, education, counseling and a place to call home. The home is Christ-centred and provides a continuum of care including physical, emotional and spiritual nurturing. The Home’s goal is to help the children mature into caring, responsible and productive members of society, regardless of their past background.

Ultimately the purpose of Christ Care Children’s Home and Rehabilitation Center is to transform the lives of the children in our care and to bring honor and glory to God and to give them a home, an education and a future in which they can become responsible people within the community. Education is vital in Kenya. Without it the orphans cannot go anywhere or get a job.

You can give generally to our Children's Home and Rehabilitation Center. This money will go to developing food sustainability through the purchasing of land as well as toward building new dormitories for our students. These are vital steps in ensuring that Christ Care Children's Home becomes a self-sustainable ministry.

    • £1 can feed one child for one day.

    • £25 can purchase a new mattress.

    • £500 can provide fertilizer for six months.

    • £5,000 can buy one acre of land.

    • £15,000 can build a new dormitory.

  • When you give toward our academy, you provide children with a healthy and appropriate learning environment. You provide classrooms that are approved by Kenya's Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health as well as desks for the students to use. Right now many of our children do not have adequate space or privacy for learning - our baby class (preschool) is currently taught underneath a tree.

£15 can provide seating for children in a classroom.

£400 can plaster the classroom floor preventing jiggers.

£2,000 can build a new classroom

  • We currently support over 30 girls who have escaped from arranged marriages and female genital mutilation (FGM), providing them with a safe space where they are valued and taught the Gospel. We work to give them a home, an education and, with that, a future.

Empower widows in our community by donating to our Widows Ministry. Your generous gift will go toward purchasing seeds and fertiliser to allow the women to be self-sustaining as well as equip them to learn and establish an income generating trade. More so, each of these women will be empowered with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and opportunities to stand up for their rights as well as fight the spread of HIV/AIDS.
