CASA DE PAN
A welcome to those who are on an inner journey, to those who set their hearts on pilgrimage.
OUR PASSION
We want to see loves transformed by the love of God, through nature, encounter, beauty and liturgy.
OUR MISSION
We provide hospitality, soul care and spiritual formation in the context of the Camino de Santiago, one pilgrim at a time.
Casa de Pan is part of Wandering Monks, a Cultural Association registered with the Spanish Ministry of Interior (number 622473).
-
We are located on KM 15,360 of the Camino Portugués, one day before Santiago de Compostela.
In 2020 - through crowdfunding - we bought a 16th century house and we've restored it as a guest house for pilgrims and those who set their hearts on pilgrimage (Psalm 84:5) turning it into a place of refuge, rest, care and hospitality to those who need it.
The name Casa de Pan refers to Bethlehem (literally meaning, “House of Bread”) where Jesus was born. It also refers to the story on the road to Emaus, where two pilgrims recognised Jesus among them around the table, in the breaking of the bread. Both passages inspired us to create a sacred space where people can slow down and find Jesus walking alongside them in the journey of life.
