LORNA ANUPI

Working in Kenya

Lorna has lived and worked in Nairobi for many years and has a passion to see women empowered. She builds relationships with women who often live in isolation. In addition, there are many young girls that work in the sex industry and are living in despair.  Lorna has the desire to help these women find hope in their lives through Jesus and there are a number of ways that she reaches out to offer a helping hand, to encourage vulnerable women to turn towards a horizon that is full of hope.

Lorna has developed an organisation called Ceelka Creation which is a sewing project located in the Eastlands region of Nairobi Kenya, in a community called Eastleigh. For the past two decades, Eastleigh region has been termed as the "little Mogadishu" of Nairobi due to its vast population of the Somali community. It is also considered as one of the major economic hubs in Kenya.

Ceelka Creation provides a platform where we engage and build bridges with Somali and other Muslim women. We are located right at the heart of Eastleigh community.

Lorna has been working tirelessly for many years, looking for and connecting with women who are voiceless and unseen often abused and powerless. With her team, she meets with vulnerable women to bring the hope that only Jesus can offer.
